OCTOBER 18 2018
Daniel Berglund (Principal) and Emil Anderson (Director), advisors to the Nordic Capital Funds, have been included in the “Future 40” compiled by Real Deals magazine, which lists the top 40 dealmakers who will shape the future of European private equity. This is the second year that Nordic Capital team members have been recognised within this group of emerging private equity talent.
These accolades follow a period of intense activity for Nordic Capital, which in the last twelve months has successfully made five platform acquisitions, achieved four exits and closed its ninth Fund above target at just over EUR 4.3 bn.
Kristoffer Melinder, Managing Partner, NC Advisory AB, advisor to the Nordic Capital Funds, commented: "It is fantastic to see our advisory team once again recognised in this list of private equity talent. Daniel and Emil have both made a very demonstrable impact to our business this year, whether that be engaging well with management teams, generating and negotiating deals or managing complex projects. Both are excellent ambassadors for our sector as a whole and for the committed and collaborative advisory team at Nordic Capital. I am delighted to offer my congratulations on their well-deserved achievements.”
Daniel Berglund, Principal, joined in January 2010 and from the outset established himself as a key member of the Technology and Payments sector team. He has been instrumental in advising on several of Nordic Capital’s major acquisitions and exits, including the creation of global payment company Bambora and its subsequent EUR 1.5 bn sale to Ingenico in July 2017, one of the largest deals in its sector to date; the merger of Itiviti and Ullink to create a world-leader in capital markets technology; and the 2018 acquisition of Trustly, a direct bank payments company. Daniel is also a board member of Cint, a global player in the data collection technology market; and of ERT, a provider of high-quality patient safety and endpoint data collection solutions for use in clinical drug development.
Emil Anderson, Director, joined in September 2010 and has since focused on the Healthcare, Technology & Payments and Financial Services sectors. He is a Director on the Boards of specialised diagnostics company, The Binding Site; Sunrise Medical, a producer of complex rehab mobility solutions for disabled; Itiviti, a technology provider for the capital markets industry; and financial software provider Macrobond. Emil acted as the project leader responsible for the GP-led secondary transfer of Nordic Capital Fund VII’s unlisted portfolio of nine assets to a five-year continuation vehicle. This ground-breaking transaction, announced in April 2018, was the largest ever transaction of its kind and a very complex project with limited precedence.
