Nordic Capital makes ‘40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Private Equity’ list for the third consecutive year

MAY 12 2015

Private Equity News has published its third annual 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Private Equity, distinguishing 40 of the most promising young men and women in the European Private Equity sector.

The 2015 list includes a broad spectrum of positions ranging from executives who have navigated portfolio companies through exit processes and IPOs to dealmakers, fundraising experts, and professionals who have come up with ground-breaking financing structures to support portfolio companies in the evolving banking landscape.

Christof Ratjen, Principal in the Banking team at NC Advisory (UK) LLP in London, advisor to the Nordic Capital Funds, is the third person from the NC Advisory organisation to be included on this list. Kim Gulstad and Christian Frick were selected in 2014 and 2013, respectively.

Christof Ratjen joined NC Advisory (UK) LLP in 2011. In 2014 he executed EUR 2.7 billion in financing for Nordic Capital portfolio companies, including Norwegian credit management service provider Lindorff's EUR 1.5 billion debt package - the largest-ever European FIG-related high-yield bond deal.

"We're very pleased to see that Nordic Capital is included on the list for the third consecutive year. These three appointments are confirmation of the broad expertise and strength within the NC Advisory organisation. We are also proud to have a member of the banking and finance team included in this year's list. Christof was included on the list due to his financing expertise - a key component in the acquisition and value creation process," says Kristoffer Melinder, co-Managing Partner, NC Advisory AB, advisor to the Nordic Capital Funds.

Footnote:Private Equity News' Methodology

Over the past three months, Private Equity News has canvassed the market for opinion and has drawn up a longlist of more than 100 potential rising stars. All nominees had to be under 40 years of age on April 27, based in Europe, the Middle East or Africa and working in the private equity industry. Candidates were then assessed by the editorial team on their achievements to date, given their age, firepower at their disposal and their potential to reach a position of great influence. The longlist was then whittled down to the final 40 listed here. The list is not ranked. The list is available at www.penews.com and www.efinancialnews.com.
