Nordic Capital’s Emil Anderson makes the “Private Equity Rising Stars” list – highlights the breadth and depth of talented team

MAY 21 2018

Emil Anderson, Director at Nordic Capital, has been included in the "2018 Private Equity Rising Stars" list compiled by Financial News and Private Equity News. This is the sixth year running that a member of the Nordic Capital investment advisory team has been recognised on this list, reflecting the quality of the firm. This follows a period of high activity for Nordic Capital, which today also announced the close of its Fund IX at EUR 4.3 billion.

Emil was recently the project leader responsible for completing the transfer of the remaining nine unlisted portfolio companies from Nordic Capital’s 2008 vintage fund, Fund VII, with a combined enterprise value of EUR 4.4 bn, into a continuation vehicle, Nordic Capital CV1. This innovative secondary transaction provides Nordic Capital Fund VII portfolio companies with the opportunity to maximise their value creation potential over the next five years and is considered a major milestone for the industry as a whole.

Kristoffer Melinder, Managing Partner, advisor to the Nordic Capital Funds commented: "It is a terrific achievement that Nordic Capital is consistently recognised on this list and Emil is highly deserving of this accolade. He has been integral in the successful completion of our continuation vehicle which has been such a significant transaction for the industry as a whole. We are dedicated to nurturing talent and have an exceptionally committed team with a great culture.”

Emil joined the Swedish advisor to the Nordic Capital Funds, as an Investment Manager in September 2010. He was promoted to Director in June 2014. For the past few years, Emil has focused on investments in the healthcare sector. He is a Director on the Boards of specialised diagnostics company The Binding Site as well as Sunrise Medical, a producer of complex rehab mobility solutions for disabled and Itiviti, a technology provider for the capital markets industry. Emil also advises on investments in the Technology & Payments and Financial Services sector for Nordic Capital.

Candidates for "Private Equity Rising Stars" are assessed by Financial News and Private Equity News' editorial panel on four criteria; achievements to date given their age (including career progression, expertise, performance and successes, particularly in the past 12-18 months), the stature of their mentors, firepower at their disposal and their potential to reach a position of great influence. They must be under the age of 40 and work in EMEA. The full list is available at www.penews.com and www.efinancialnews.com. In 2017, the list was reduced to only 25 young executives (rather than 40 as in previous years), narrowing the selection further.
